Billionaires grew by 19%
March 8th, 2007 9:10 PM

Billionaires!  I'm not one of them.  I don't even dream of being one.  But don't you sometimes like to NOT work?  Win the lottery?  My wife says she would be happy if we had 5 million.  Heck, that number could be much less.

Well, if you are reading this, you are more than likely struggling like the rest of us.  But I can tell you how to grow rich and the richness I'm talking about is greater than the 946 billionaries listed in Forbes.  What?  Here it is.  Give of yourself to others...give give give...and you will be rich.

"What you receive as a gift, give as a gift"!  Tell me where you might have read this.  Be specific.

My gift to you can actually be money!  I don't know you and you probably don't even know me.  I always like to give money away to the chagrin of my wife.  How can I possibly do it?  Well, I found a way.  Since I'm a realtor, and a broker at that, I list homes for "free" and save homeowners the listing fee.  That can amount to 15 to 20 thousand dollars.  Homeowners feel good about that and I feel good.  But in order to please my wife, I must be the agent that helps you purchase your next house.  Yikes, I still need to put food on the table...but hopefully, my generosity keeps food on your table, too.

TGIF
March 29th, 2007 10:51 AM

Well, almost Friday.  I don't know why I say "thank God its Friday" when in fact, the weekends are the busiest times of the week for me!  Trips to Home Depot for the one thing you need and then back to Home Depot for the other one thing you forgot to get!

I remember years ago when I left the service.  All I owned was the clothes on my back.  I gave everything away...I mean everything which included my stereo and record collection.  I felt free.  No worries even though I had no job.  Free, even though I didn't know where my next meal was coming from.  Well, I did have a few hundred dollars that I saved and I didn't give that away.

Then I started on the road to hell!  By that I mean, I started get "stuff" again.  Stuff that now is packed in the attic, basement, garage and any other part of the house where shelves are so overloaded!  Where did my freedom go?  Many times I thought I would get a dumpster and just get rid of it all.  My wife would kill me, but still the days of leaving the service and the freedom I had "haunt" me into thinking I should get the dumpster.

Perhaps I should change the TGIF to TGFE... Thank God For Easter!

March Madness part 2
March 17th, 2007 11:19 PM

Well, three teams I rooted for - all underdogs, lost!  Each of the teams were within striking at the close of the game.  And so the Madness continous with several already headed for the sweet sixteen.  Tomorrow, UVA (my son's school) will play and though they are favored, it could go the other way.

Madness will be over soon, as well it should.  Things will go back to normal.  Then what is normal?  I will spend more time doing what I love to do...read!  I like to read all sorts of books...and was wondering what your favorite.  Hope you share it with me.

March Madness
March 16th, 2007 7:48 PM

I hope your team is winning!  I've been rooting for the underdogs.  I'm from Virginia and we have three teams in the playoffs and presently all three are still in the run!  My son attends UVA and they handily beat Albany.  VCU beat Duke and presently Virginia Tech is leading Illinois early in the game.

Isn't life like the March Madness?  For me it is.  I study, read up on, and try my best to know my product(s).  Some days I'm distracted and other days things go smoothly.  Then there is the big game.  Everything is going my way and the buyer gets cold feet and wants to walk!  You do everything to close, but more time is needed!

Everyday can be MARCH MADNESS and what a thrill it is.  I wish you many March Madness days!

Spring break is over
March 11th, 2007 7:13 PM

It would be great if Spring break followed the Easter season.  Christian left to go back to UVA --only a two hour trip.  Unlike other kids who head to the beaches with others, or to the mountains to ski, our son stayed in front of a computer - 8 hours a day for the five days.

Christian learned to daytrade and he took advantage of the time he was home to make over $800 for the week.  Not bad for a kid who is only 20 years old.  His dreams, besides getting a law degree, is to run a hedge fund.

I know nothing of the stock market; I asked him to teach me, but he said it's best for me to stick with real estate and he is right.  I know real estate.

Whether you need an appraiser for refinancing or in need of someone to help you sell or purchase a home, I'm someone who can not only save you lots of money, but more importantly, get you top dollars for the house you are selling.  I don't have a spring break!

Saying goodbye
March 10th, 2007 1:14 PM

I don't like saying goodbye.  I done it several times and its always the same.  I'm sadden because in all likelihood, I won't see this person ever again.  And I don't like it.  I can tell myself, well, we will meet again, but that is only to try to make myself feel better.

We can keep in touch via the internet and I have done that with two of my friends.  But it isn't the same.

What do you do when you have to say goodbye?  I mean with someone you have a special relationship and you know that tomorrow is the last day you will see this person?

On the real estate market...definitely a buyers market.  As an appraiser and as a realtor (I'm a broker), I can definitely tell you what is a great offer.  Call me at 703-425-2581 for all your real estate needs.
